To display Japanese characters you will need to have an appropriate font installed, such as MS Gothic. If you do not have any Japanese fonts installed, have a look at WAZU JAPAN's Gallery of Unicode Fonts. (For legibility we recommend the free download of the Epson fonts.) Also freely available is the Sword Kanji font. To type Japanese characters into Lexis Rex, one option is NJStar Communicator.
