Word Map

||
The Word Map represents the whole vocabulary, i.e all words, in the system.
It is made up of squares (as small as pixels if you have the full vocabulary set),
and each square represents a word.
The word squares are ordered such that the first square in the upper left corner is the most frequently used word in the language, while the last square at the bottom right is one of the least frequently words used in the language. You will see if you put the mouse in the upper left the most common word in the language will be shown. The red colored square shows where you are now: i.e. it represents the word currently shown in the Entry. If you place your mouse pointer above a square a tooltip will appear to show you the word that the square represents. (Seen in the image is a tooltip for the 1169'th most common word in the french vocabulary: forêt.) If you click on this position you will be taken to that word's entry. The Map area will also color words you have marked as "Known" using the check box on the Entry field in pale blue as shown. In this way, over time as you mark more and more words that you have learnt, you will get the "big picture" of your knowledge in one glance. |
